أطلق الأميران البريطانيان وليام وهاري وزوجتاهما كيت وميجان خدمة نصية جديدة عبر الهاتف اليوم الجمعة 10 مايو، لمساعدة من يمرون بأزمات نفسية.

 

وقوبل حديث الأميرين بصراحة عن معاناتهما من مشاكل الصحة النفسية بعد وفاة والدتهما الأميرة ديانا في حادث سيارة عام1997 بإشادات كثيرة، وجعل الشقيقان من المسألة إحدى القضايا الرئيسية التي يتصدان لها.

 

تهدف الخدمة النصية الجديدة التي أطلق عليها اسم «شاوت» أي «اصرخ» إلى تقديم الدعم على مدار الساعة لمن يمرون بأزمات نفسية كالأفكار الانتحارية والاعتداءات والمشاكل العاطفية والتنمر عن طريق توصيلهم بمتطوعين مدربين ومساعدتهم على إيجاد دعم على المدى الطويل.

 

وقال الأمير ويليام في فيديو نشره على صفحته الرسمية على موقع التواصل الاجتماعي «انستجرام»، إنه وشقيقه وزوجتاهما "نشعر بحماس هائل لإطلاق هذه الخدمة لأن بإمكانها الوصول إلى آلاف المستضعفين يوميا".

 

وقال القائمون على الخدمة النصية لصحيفة «ذا صن» البريطانية إنها تستهدف الشبان على نحو خاص وإن استخدام الرسائل النصية يعني أنها ستتمتع بالخصوصية والهدوء مما يسمح للناس باستخدامها في المدارس أو الحافلات أو في المنزل.

 

ويأتي الإعلان عن الخدمة الجديدة في الوقت الذي تتداول فيه وسائل الإعلام تكهنات بوجود خلاف بين الأمير وليام وزوجته من جهة والأمير هاري وزوجته من جهة أخرى على الرغم من أنه لم يظهر في العلن ما يشير إلى أي خلافات.

It operates 24/7 and connects people in need to trained volunteers who provide help at a time when it is most needed; enabling them to move from a moment of crisis to a calm state and form a plan for next steps to find longer-term support. As texting is private and silent, it opens up a whole new way to find help. It provides instant support - you can have a conversation at any time – at school, at home, on the bus, anywhere. This service is for everyone, but for younger people especially, texting is a trusted and familiar form of communication, and using text rather than apps makes it simple and accessible for everyone with a phone. Shout is powered by a team of volunteers who are at the heart of the service. They are trained to create a safe space for people experiencing mental health challenges. The programme is unique with the training and volunteering all done online, under the supervision of qualified clinicians. Working remotely, volunteers are part of a supportive and connected online community of 1,000, with the ambition of boosting that community to 4,000 by the end of the year. Meet Plastic Surgeon Professor Simon Kay: Professor Kay performed the UK's first double hand transplant on patient Chris King in 2016. When Professor Kay was about five he suffered severe burns to one of his hands. After surgery at a specialist centre one finger remained deformed and despite further specialist referrals he elected to have it removed when he was fifteen. This experience made him aware of the psychological impact of surgery in childhood and of hand deformity in general, and strongly influenced his future career choice. He now works as a consultant plastic surgeon at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Today Professor Kay was honoured with an OBE for services to Complex Reconstructive Hand Surgery by The Duke of Cambridge in an Investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace - congratulations! 📷PA
